HISTORY OF JESUIT COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Bethel Park native and St. Valentine School alum Michael Rizzi has recently published a groundbreaking book on the history of Catholic higher education: Jesuit Colleges and Universities in the United States: A History (Catholic University of America Press, 2022). He will be visiting the Bethel Park Public Library to present his work and give a book talk. Hear the story of Catholic immigration to the United States, and how Catholic schools served those immigrants and fought against discrimination throughout history.

This will be of special interest to anyone who attended a Catholic college or university, including Jesuit schools like Georgetown University, Boston College, John Carroll University, Wheeling Jesuit University, Xavier University, Saint Joseph’s University, and others. Please join us!
